Strategies is a sales promotion agency. We define our purpose as follows:
Businesses, both large and not-so-large, require effective communication efforts to survive and succeed. Advertising, as a discipline of communication, is where Strategies begins, but is no means where we end. As a sales promotion agency, we apply sound communication principles to any number of applications.
Doug is a 35 year industry veteran who is more passionate about the promotional products industry now than at any point and time in his career. With 10 years of industry experience in both selling and sales management, along with wife Renae’s supplier side experience, Doug founded Strategies with Renae in April of 1991.
Doug continues to have passion for this industry and for helping his customers in incredibly creative ways. He has garnered several Pyramid awards from the PPAI (Promotional Products Association International) for the successful use of promotional products in the area of new business development.
Doug’s passions besides family (three grown children and two beautiful grandchildren) are barbequing (in true southern style), cooking, golf, bag toss and biking. He serves on a leadership team at church and is involved in several non-profit organizations – – his favorite being serving at the Homeless Connections facility where he was recently name “Iron Chef!”
Jacob has been with Strategies for over 1 year as an Account Manager.
A graduate of UW- Stevens Point, Jacob received his degree in Business Administration – Management.
Jacob’s core hobbies revolve around hockey, golf, football and traveling. Most weekends of the summer he travels back to Elkhart Lake, where most of his family lives.
Always ready for a good time Jacob is sure to help bring energy to every conversation!
Cindy brings over 25 years of experience in administration and human resources to her new position at Strategies, Ltd. Her responsibilities at Strategies, Ltd. include overseeing customer invoicing and accounts payable. In addition, she is working with the management team to firm up policies and procedures to enhance the overall efficiency of the office.
In her spare time, Cindy enjoys golfing with her husband and friends as well as spending time with her two grown sons and a newly acquired daughter-in-law.
Seth is a new addition to the Strategies team. A graduate of UW-Stevens Point’s communication department, he is ready to actively listen and assist clients in any way possible.
In his spare time, he is a coach for his hometown Athens Bluejays football team. In addition to being a football fanatic, you can catch him during the summer playing softball with his friends.
Born and raised a “Cheese head,” this guy enjoys nothing more than rooting for his beloved Green Bay Packers. When he’s not attending a game at The Frozen Tundra, Dalton lends his support and assistance to the awesome salespeople of Strategies. Outside of work, you can find him at the golf course or watching Top Gun for the 100th time.
Dalton will graduate from UW-Stevens Point in December with a degree in Business Administration. He looks forward to a full time career in the promotional products industry and is excited to take this journey.
David E. Schanke – our longest standing employee of Strategies, has served in many roles from Sales to Vice President. Bringing together a positive formula of managing long term relationships with a ‘how can I help you succeed approach’ has been his recipe for success.
David is also very dedicated- – now in his 26th year in the Promotional Products Industry, he’s served over two decades with the Strategies Family. In addition to an arsenal of Achievement Awards from Strategies, he earned the industry’s most prestigious Award, a Golden Pyramid for exceptional creative application. This award accompanies two others within Strategies and to our knowledge, we’re the only firm to have such an award north of Milwaukee.
A dedicated Father who has a love for the water, David spends his personal time on their family boat in Door County. He lives on ‘Island Time’ as his Mother taught him!
Don Klingseisen is a results-driven leader with 20+ years of professional experience in all facets of advertising, consumer products marketing, innovation and business management. Don started his career as an account executive at an advertising agency in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He then joined Kimberly-Clark for over 16 years where he developed programs in consumer promotion, media strategy, brand marketing, and shopper marketing. Don joined the Strategies team in January of 2015.
Outside of work, Don and his wife Kathy have developed a marriage ministry for their local church which focuses on enhancing communication and relationship dynamics within marriage.
Don and Kathy have three sons, who love camping, fishing, hiking, and biking. Together, they are on a quest to visit as many National Parks in the country as possible.
In addition to her Customer Service role, Fee is the beautiful accent on the main Strategies phone line, she plants and tends to all plants and flowers, and keeps the kitchen towels spotless…she will do whatever is needed which makes each day more fun!
She just celebrated 20 years with Strategies and is looking forward to many more! She attended four years at The University of Alabama.
Fee has two children, Robert and Lucy, mostly they are great joys. She loves her two dogs, Florice and Nellie. They always make her smile. She loves to garden and even enjoys mowing the grass. Fee is surrounded by great friends so she is a lucky one. Fee enjoys going back to England to visit her family there and top-up the accent!
Heather began part-time at Strategies in 2013 and assists the salespeople on orders and following the projects through to completion.
Heather is an accomplished photographer and also enjoys kayaking, hiking and watching her 3 boys in baseball and soccer. She has an energetic personality – – she is also outgoing and efficient and loves to multi-task!

Melanie Akstulewicz is an Outside Sales Executive for Strategies. She assists her clients with their promotional marketing needs.
She just celebrated 18 years with Strategies on June 3, 2015.
Melanie is married, soon to celebrate 30 years with her husband Larry on September 6, 2015. Her “furry family” consists of three Golden Retrievers and three cats. She enjoys walking area trails with her youngest dog, Jessie, golfing and boating. Melanie and her husband also own and operate a small marina on the Fox River in Oshkosh.
Began his career in promotional products way back in 1994, working for a local company in Marinette, WI.
In 1995 Jim opened his own distributorship and continued his business until June of 1999 when he joined the Strategies team.
Jim provides promotional product ideas to his clients for their internal and external needs. He provides products for: trade-shows, employee recognition & motivation, safety
awareness & awards and new business development. He assists clients with additional services such as graphic art, print, packaging and fulfillment needs.
Hobbies/interests: Boating, hiking & camping, riding mountain bike in the summer, hockey and snowboarding in the winter.
Jim has been writing and recording original music since the mid 80’s and has a complete home based recording studio.

Paul joined Strategies in 2011 and has been in the Promotional Marketing Business since 2001.
His career began in Consumer Package Goods Marketing working with Kimberly-Clark in both the US and Canadian markets. He brings a unique Brand Marketing insight to his clients.
One of Paul’s passions in business is Cause Marketing – Engaging consumers to interact with a brand while sustainably generating support of a cause they care about!
When not spending time with his awesome wife and great kids, you may find him drilling wells in Africa, mentoring youth at his church, trying to get in a little gym time, skiing or biking.
Beverly Renae Dobbe….but please call her Renae! She enjoys working in the accounting department with her team. This team strives to make everyday fun! Since every project is unique, it is interesting to watch the successful programs that the Strategies sales team creates for their valued clients. It truly is a creative and fun business! By the way…she has been on board since the beginning…back in April of 1991!
Renae grew up in Fort Piece, FL and graduated from a local community college (IRCC) and transferred to Freed-Hardeman College in Tennessee to complete her bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in computer information. After college, she met Doug on an industry travel incentive trip to Stockholm, Sweden while working for a supplier firm. As they say, the “rest is history!”
They have three grown children: Jordan, Rachel (married to Daniel and they have two children: Samuel and Norah), and Dalton. She enjoys “cottage life” in the North woods of Wisconsin – -especially boating and snowmobiling! She also enjoys travel , serving on a couple of non-profit committees(SEHF and WisconSibs) as well as at church(Mason St. church of Christ) and just joined EWGA to learn to golf!
A results-orientated impact team player, Todd has a proven track record of over 20+ years in the promotional products field. Through a demonstrated commitment to excellence, Todd has built a solid reputation for providing personalized service and strategic solutions to local and national accounts. Todd enjoys the day to day creative challenges and is always looking for new and innovative ways of conveying his clients’ vision and message. He prides himself on positioning Strategies as an extension of their clients’ marketing and human resources departments…working as a team!
When not brainstorming for a work project, Todd has three busy young boys and enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking, camping and is also an avid musician playing in several bands.
Kurt is responsible for monitoring all incoming and outgoing shipments. He also is responsible for overseeing all fulfillment projects.
Kurt came to Strategies after 16 years as Warehouse Manager with an office products company. Kurt has been with Strategies since December 2001.
He enjoys spending time with his 2 children Ian and Summer. His favorite sport is baseball. He enjoys working on projects at home (except for the mess!)
Jean brings 20 plus years of experience in the industry to Strategies.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and when not assisting a customer with a request, she enjoys playing golf.
Jean lives by this motto: Life is short. Live it.
Jill serves as one of Strategies’ chief sales and marketing gurus. She has always loved listening to people and hearing their stories, so sales is a natural fit. Her passions are helping businesses discover original and potent ways to be noticed by standing out from the crowd, and assisting clients to sell their products and services effectively while promoting their brands. Promotional products can be used as tools to promote sales meetings, trade shows, employee service awards, or special events.
Pursuing creative endeavors has been a mainstay for her since she was a child. This drive has stayed with her throughout her adult life. She graduated with honors in 1981 from Mount Mary College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Architecture and Interior Design. The country was in a recession in 1981, so she switched paths, honing my skills in the printing industry, where she worked as an account executive for eighteen years at a high end Milwaukee sheet fed printing company that specialized in products such as annual reports, technical manuals, collateral and point of purchase displays. They printed on literally every substrate imaginable. After years of all-night press approvals, she left to find a saner life, which led her to the promotions business, where she’s been for the past seventeen years.
Jill was raised to believe that the purpose of life is far greater than just the gains we make through business. That is why she has donated time to charitable causes, serving in the past on the board of Cystic Fibrosis and to other worthy causes, such as Go Red for Women, The Ronald McDonald House, Sharp Literacy and more. Additionally, she gauges her overall success on the success and happiness of her clients.
She is very close to her two sisters, one of whom is her twin, and she has a wonderful husband, Peter. When she’s not wearing her sales suit, you’ll probably find her on the golf course, working out, digging in her garden, reading a new novel or enjoying fine food with a great glass of wine. She’s also a wanderlust and enjoys learning about other cultures in faraway lands.
